Refined sugar is hard on your gut microbiome. It can also spike insulin leading to an energy peak and then crash and it is nutritionally dead meaning it provides the body calories but no nutrients. I am not the sugar police nor do I like pushing recipes through any negativity it is just for education purposes. When you know the effects it has and you are paired with alternatives that taste amazing you can make empowered choices to fuel your body like a god or goddess. Dramatic? maybe but when you think about fueling yourself as a goddess you get fired up to fuel yourself the way you want to feel. You begin to embody the version of yourself that makes great choices and shows up for yourself on a regular basis. I share this in hopes that it helps you embody your highest self and so that you are inspired to make choices that make you feel your best.
This Easy Healthy Ferrero Rocher recipe checks all the boxes, it’s healthy, simple to make and tastes absolutely amazing!
Hazelnuts contain protein, dietary fibre, healthy fats and vitamin E. They work as a great snack or add them into your favourite energy ball recipe like this 3 ingredient recipe. Hazelnuts are also rich in antioxidants which help fight against free radicals. I love adding nuts to dessert recipes because the fibre, protein and healthy fat from the nuts helps to regulate blood sugar levels and can improve insulin sensitivity. If you don’t have hazelnuts try my Turtle Pecan Ball Recipe which can be made with pecans or walnuts: https://pamrocca.com/?s=chocolate+balls
